2026 Omaha Public Schools Athletics Hall of Fame Honorees

Omaha Public Schools is proud to announce the 2026 class of inductees to the Omaha Public Schools Athletics Hall of Fame. These individuals were honored during the annual induction ceremony and banquet on Saturday, March 28, 2026.

This year's class of 10 distinguished representatives from across our district's schools and programs honors accomplished athletes, coaches, educators and contributors who have left a lasting impact on athletics and activities within Omaha Public Schools.

  • A multi-time state track and field and cross country medalist, Jack Lemke (Benson High, Class of 2004) still holds the second-fastest 800-meter time in Nebraska history and remains actively involved with his alma mater as a member of the Benson Alumni Association Board of Directors.
  • Before becoming an All-American gymnast at the University of Nebraska, Renee Reisdorff (Bryan High, Class of 1979) captained an undefeated Bryan High Bears season in 1978 and became the first gymnast in Nebraska history to win all five individual event state championships in a single season.
  • A two-time Gatorade Athlete of the Year in track and field, Michaela Wallerstedt (Burke High, Class of 2005) set state records in both the shot put and discus, including the still-standing Class A all-time and Metro Conference records in the girls discus.
  • A three-sport All-City selection, Phillip W. Barth (Central High, Class of 1958) helped Central High capture the all-sports city championship, including city titles in football and basketball, before earning a scholarship to the University of Nebraska, where he lettered in both baseball and basketball.
  • Now serving as a coach within Omaha Public Schools, Clinton Childs (North High, Class of 1992) rushed for 3,947 career yards and won a 1989 state wrestling championship before contributing to Nebraska’s 1994 and 1995 national championship football teams.
  • After an all-conference football career at the University of South Dakota, Stephen Eubanks returned to Omaha and dedicated 32 years to Omaha Public Schools as a coach, teacher and administrator, including 15 years as athletic director at Northwest High.
  • A National High School Coaches Association boys basketball coach of the year honoree, Bruce Chubick, Sr. led South High to state championships in 2016 and 2019 and continues to mentor student-athletes in his 50th year of teaching and coaching.
  • A 1950 graduate of Tech HighFred Brown became just the second Nebraska high school wrestler to capture four individual state championships.
  • This year’s contributor honoree, Toba Cohen-Dunning, has helped lead multiple multimillion-dollar athletics facility improvement projects during her 20-year tenure as executive director of the Omaha Public Schools Foundation.
  • Born in Fortaleza, Brazil, Celio Silva began his career with Omaha Public Schools in 1996 as a paraprofessional before earning his degree in education and spending three decades teaching and coaching middle school students across our district.
