Jeff James is in his first year as an OPS teacher.  Mr. James has two degrees from the University of Nebraska.  He taught high school instrumental music at Yutan Public Schools and later middle school instrumental music at Aurora Public Schools. While at Aurora, the Nebraska State Bandmasters Association presented him with the Jack R. Snider Outstanding Young Band Director Award. 

On trombone solo, Mr. James has performed the National Anthem for the Kansas City Royals, Chicago Bulls, Omaha Royals/Stormchasers, College World Series and UNO Hockey. He has been a featured soloist with the Nebraska Wind Symphony.

Mr. James was director of bands at Grace University for 24 years.  He taught music theory, conducting, and strings classes, and took the Grace Band on many concert tours including five to China.

Mr. James is a music leader at Grace Baptist Church in Omaha.  He and his wife Pat have four children, including two adopted from China.
